The Carrivick Sisters, Laura and Charlotte, are multi-instrumentalists and excellent singers. Last night they graced the stage at Henry Tudor House in Shrewsbury and kept the audience spellbound from start to finish.
Their mix of, by their own admission, “not quite folk, but almost” had emotion, humour and the ubiquitous, for some traditional folk lovers, death. The sisters created a lovely atmosphere and feeling with their original music. They played a variety of stringed instruments, including guitar, dobro, violin (fiddle) and mandolin, with aplomb. Their vocals created beautiful harmonies that complimented their playing perfectly and had the audience in the palms of their hand. Another excellent Live in the House gig.
