Martin Harley is a well renowned blues guitarist and singer. Last night was his third time playing for the Live in the House crowd, but this time he was accompanied by an awesome double bass player, Daniel Kimbro.
Despite being full of the winter cold/flu bug, Martin still managed to deliver great vocals, amazing guitar skills and banter to boot. The banter between himself and Daniel, who’s Tennessee dead-pan delivery of quips had the audience in stitches, showed how well these two know each other. It was shown even further in their playing.
Daniel’s bass playing skills were nothing short of virtuous. The counterpoint between his double bass and Martin’s guitar playing just seemed natural, together and complimented each other incredibly well. We don’t know many people who don’t like the sound of double bass and I would challenge anyone in the audience last night to say anything against it!
We had a great time providing sound engineering duties for Henry Tudor House once again last night. It was a pleasure to work with Martin again and great to work with Daniel too. We look forward to doing so again in the future.
