A Touch of Mrs Robinson

The weekend just gone saw us providing sound and lighting for a cabaret style show for Fiona Coffey, through Arts Alive. The Arts Alive promoted show is based around the Mrs Robinson character from the infamous film The Graduate, starring Anne Bancroft and Dustin Hoffman.

Two performances were made on Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th of March 2017. The first performance was in the compact Peace Memorial Hall in Meole Brace, Shrewsbury. The second was in the Coronational Hall, Kingsland, Leominster.

The show is an excellent look into the role of Mrs Robinson and what her character represents. Fiona developed the ideas for the show after researching the character and discovering interesting facts about her, which she compiled with her own thoughts and perspective. The show is funny, eye opening and thoroughly enjoyable.

Fiona’s band comprised Michael Roulston on Piano and Jonathan “Kitch” Kitching on Drums. Fiona’s vocal switches between a very convincing American and her native English accents, whilst chatting with the audience and singing various numbers arranged for the show.

She will be touring the show to various placed, including the Edinburgh Festival. We recommend you check it out if you get a chance.

We look forward to working with Fiona later in the year.

For this production we provided a suitably compact FOH PA system, on-stage monitoring for the performers and simple stage lighting, controlled via DMX. If you need sound or lighting hire for your event, just fill in our Get a Quote form and we’ll get back to you ASAP.
