Local solo musician Andy Ketchen approached us, after a recommendation from another local group who we had recorded previously. Andy wanted to professionally record his music and get his album mixed, mastered and duplicated on CD to give to friends and sell at gigs.
After discussing his requirements the first recording date was set and we met with Andy, and his wife, at the studio to begin the recording process. As his music is purely him and his guitar it meant we were able to be setup and running pretty quickly. Recording through TLA pre-amps and the Allen & Heath GS3000 desk & MOTU 24i/o gave us plenty of options and we began to experiment with the most effective recording setup, which represented his voice and guitar best. Once we were all happy with the sound we were attaining at source, Andy was able to begin laying down his songs, one at a time.
The recording day was very successful, as it allowed Andy to record all of the songs he was looking to put onto this album. So with everyone happy we called it a day at the studio, recording wise, and the mixing process could begin.
