February’s calendar of music, at Henry Tudor House, commenced with a “Live in the House” performance from the Hattie Briggs Trio. Hattie is a singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who has has released three EPs and two critically acclaimed albums. She had received airplay on BBC Radio 1, 2, and 6 Music.
Hattie performed a variety of music from her EPs and albums, as well as a couple of covers. She changed between acoustic guitar, ukelele and piano. She was accompanied by cellist, Jasmine, and guitarist/pedal steel player Matt.
The music was captivating and her relationship with the audience was relaxed and engaging. The mix of pedal steel, acoustic guitar, ukelele, piano, cello and vocals was incredibly enjoyable and the full house audience lapped up the music from start to finish.
If you’ve never seen Hattie before, we recommend you check her out when you get a chance. We also recommend you visit Henry Tudor House and check out their music and comedy evenings, as well as the food.
